Drama at the doctor's office

yesterday....Kyle had to get one more shot so he'd be ready for Kindergarten. We successfully got to the waiting room without any questions about why we were there. Kyle looked up at me and said "Mom, who are we here for?" I said, "YOU" He quickly replied, "Am I getting a shot? I don't want a shot!!" Then the fit began. I had to chase him around the waiting room, carry his big 47 pound self into the examination room. While waiting, Lauren and Kyle were plotting to figure out ways for Kyle not to get the dreaded shot. Plan #1 Hiding. He was hiding under the paper from the table whispering, "Mom don't tell the doctor I'm under here." He then moved under the chairs. Next to the table. Not very many hiding spots! Plan #2 Lauren and Kyle went to the restroom. Later they told me they had a plan to switch clothes so the doctor would think that Lauren was Kyle. Ha! Such creativity. Needless to say, the doctor arrived, found Kyle hiding, did the examination and sent the nurse in. I have never experienced such drama with getting one shot. Kyle is one strong dude! The two of us could not hold him down. He had to get it in the leg! He fought to the very end. While holding him down...he was saying/screaming "Mom! Don't let her do it!" That was it. He was done and he quit crying. Because of his bravery, Kyle earned a cup of custard at Ritters.

On a side note....Lauren had something important to tell me. Apparently she was wearing one of Kade's swimmers while we were at the doctor's office. Crazy girl!
