Lots of Random Things

Kade has quite the fascination with the potty. Friday he pooped on the pot. I thought he was just playing. Nope! Hasn't done it since though.....I think it was just a fluke. But we had a celebration nonetheless. Yesterday he was doing his routine in our bathroom and says book with his pa in and all. He's been watching a certain someone.

Few things about Kade: he only likes the corner of his blankie. He loves gum. Climbs on the counters to get it, then swallows it. Poor little dude is gonna get plugged up. He loves to jump on our bed with Steve. When someone leaves, and only gives him a kiss, he insists on a hug as well. He is now waking up in the middle of the night. What's up with that? Doesn't go to bed as well as he used to. Maybe he is becoming afraid of the dark. He does better when I open the door a bit.

Kyle was quite rambunctious last night. I was trying to get them to come to the couch to talk about a gospel art picture. Steve was in the laundry room, and I was calling for Kyle to come. Steve said he rolled his eyes and said I can't take her anymore. I laughed so hard! Where does he come up with that stuff?

So we are getting ready for baby. Brandon Cole may be his name. Steve and the kids have been joking about little "Bran Muffin" The clothes have been washed, the swing put together, car seat ready. Kade thinks the swing is for him. I keep finding him in it. I tell him it's for the baby. Oh he says. Where is the baby? I don know where? In my tummy. He smiles and says Oh! He doesn't get it. In a couple of days he is going to have some serious competition. I can't wait to have it over with. Thursday at midnight I go in to be induced. Can't wait to meet the little fella and see his cute feet and smell his baby breath.

So up until this weekend, the swing had been sitting in a box in Kade's room. The boys couldn't resist opening it and had been using the parts as guns. It was driving me crazy. SO crazy that I put the swing together myself. Kyle and Kade have been playing so well together. This is a miracle most days. I found them in the playroom sharing pirates. How sweet. Kyle usually just annoys Kade and all I hear is Kade's screaming.

Lauren has been doing a unit at school about rocks. This is right up her alley. She has been doing a rock treasure hunt this week where she has to find different types of rocks to bring in and share. It's funny how she can get really into some things and not into others. For example, she had a book report that was assigned two weeks ago. She finished it late afternoon Sunday to turn in today. She pretty much did the minimum....book choice and all. But it's done. She was accepted into the GATE program and she is excited about that for next year.

I cannot believe that Kyle will be in school all day next year. He is going on a field trip this week to the new library which opens on Wed. I am so excited about that. Excited for the kids I guess because I don't really read tons of books. But just love the kids books. Hopefully they will have some programs over the summer to keep them busy as well.

I am eager anticipating the arrival of my new camera lens. I bought one that is supposed to be a fast lens that is great for portraits and low lighting. I hoping to use this for inside shots. Hope it gets here before Thursday so I can play with it before going to the hospital. Would love to get some great inside shots at the hospital.

Lauren is insisting on getting her own room. Steve promised her that if she could spend a week in the playroom sleeping alone, it could be hers. She is determined. We think she's too chicken. She won't even play down there in the middle of the afternoon by herself.

Getting some painting projects done. The kids bathroom is now a soft, light blue color. Really pretty. Don't want to call it powder blue. Cause that is just yuck...but pretty close. Looks good. The laundry room will be completed tonight. We bought a teal-like color. Then Steve changed his mind to a soft orange. That was my original plan. We'll see how it turns out.
