Ramblings

Where to begin? I feel like I have been so busy that I don't have time to sleep. You know that feeling? We spent yesterday evening at the new dance studio. The whole time I was thinking did I make the right choice? It is a very different environment. LOTS of kids in and out and tons of parents. A little overwhelming for Lauren I think. The first class was a combo jazz/tap. She was so lost during the tap because she has never done it. Thankfully I know what a shuffle ball change is so we will be practicing. As I was watching her, I could just see that she was nervous....not knowing anyone, not knowing how to feel comfortable. There were at least 20 kids in there. I think she will do better in the weeks to come. The ballet was a different story. She LOVED it! I was very impressed. The teacher was very into the technique. Correcting many students and spending lots of time with correct form. The last half they spent doing a routine for the upcoming recital. So cute and slow and very appropriate and I believe she will know it backwards and forwards before June. I am happy about that. After talking with Lauren she would like for me to be there for the next couple of weeks until she feels comfortable which may pose a problem......the boys will most likely accompany me. It was hard enough yesterday with just Brandon I cannot imagine all three.

Back to the ballet teacher. Holy muscles!! She was the typcial ballet type. Very slender, muscular and had that long face and nose. Very similar to Miss Rosemary. Funny I thought.

I had intended to have board books done for each of the kids today. Didn't happen. We were lucky to get cards done, treats purchased and lunches made to get to school on time. We rode our bikes today in the wind. Craziness but the kids love it! I was telling Steve last night that I need to go to the store to get stuff for their parties and then stay up to do the books. He said I think it will be alright to give them the books this weekend. I agreed! I said I needed to pick up a card for him and asked if I should pick up his card for me. We laughed! He said don't buy any cards...and I didn't and we are perfectly alright with that!

Aunt Kimberly gave the kids a heart attack last night with the cutest plate of decorated cupcakes. They thought that was so nice! We kept the hearts outside all night, but it rained! I wanted to get a picture this morning. Didn't happen. They appreciated it nonetheless. Kimberly is so thoughtful to drive all that way. We love her!

Kade has been my TV watcher! I have to be careful because he can sit for a couple of hours and watch all the shows: Diego and Dora are his new favorites, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets. And the funniest thing is he LOVES "Barnyarg" as he calls it. It is in the DVD player upstairs and he wants to watch it at least 2 times daily. The kids now hate that show. They have seen it too much. There is one part that he has to tell me about several times a day.....it goes something like this: The brown cow says this is my friend Betsy. Then Otis says Yeah her is a cupcake. I have got to get that on video because the way he says cupcake is so cute! So on Barnyard there is a furry creature, party animal whose name is Wild Mike. Kade got a new ball at Target that resembles this creature. So the ball shares the name.

This is Lauren doing her homework while riding on her rollerblades. She loves to ride them more than Kyle. He doesn't quite have enough coordination yet. So here is a photo of Kyle. We thought it was funny that his bum was in the shot. He is scheduled to have is surgery to get tubes in the ears Friday. He was nervous about that. He is going to do great and I am hoping it will alleviate all of the ear problems.
So back to laundry. Have a happy day!

Glad Lauren had fun with ballet, I was surprised how "exact" the teachers want them to be, even with Julia at three. Love that you and Steve didn't do cards and are ok with that, its the thought that counts- right???
Your books are looking spectacular, its better to have a "rested" mom than a book on time. It will extend the celebration of how much you love them to get them when they get them.

I am sure once Lauren gets used to her new dance she will love it! It sounds like you will too! And she is killing me on her roller blades. Funny girl.
Those books look so cute!

Hey Heather, I came across your blog today somehow. I enjoyed reading about how your family is. Your kids are getting so big and they are stinkin cute! Is it ok if I come and read or is this just for your family. I see your sisters and your Mom here so I just wanted to make sure!

Your kids are so funny. Lauren on her rollerblades with that clipboard is funny! Hope she gets feeling more comfortable with her dance class soon. I don't know how you do it all with 4 kids. But you do & I think you do an amazing job of keeping it all together.
