Because I Like Lists

1. Brandon has a black eye and a goose egg on his cheek. His left side is totally tore up. The poor kid fell HARD three times today and he seems to hit the same spot every time. Little love has been enjoying everyone being home during the day. He doesn't want to miss a thing so his naps have been suffering.

2. Kyle had a friend today and they spent some time in the backyard. I am so glad that they are out there using their imaginations: they were pirates today. But they have done the weather channel, icky sticky slime lab, mud pies which turned into a mud fight, princess and knights, building a huge moat and trying to build a spa (sound familiar Mom?) But our backyard pays a price. As you can see it needs serious attention. The lawn has not been watered in months.
3. Yes that is Kade in his diaper. He is stubborn little fella. He knows what he wants, and lately he is the boss of me.
5. Steve called with a plan to give that backyard a little TLC this weekend. I am so excited to have green grass again. We have been meaning to get trees in the back planters for a couple of years now.
6. Lauren came home from activity days and asked why there was a garden in the back of Dad's truck. He told her of the plans which include a small pond in the back planter with a potential for goldfish and eventually a turtle. She was stoked. They begged to get started this evening. So the kids and Steve pulled out the dead plants and started pruning. They got a little crazy. You know like Dad does....and now there is hardly anything left in our planters. Steve likes it....less is more concept.
7. I think I'll pick up a couple of pots and some flowers to plant as well. It just seems like the right thing to do.
8. I'm almost done with Candace's album. It is coming together so quickly. It doesn't really have a theme which makes it easier to fill I think.
9. Speaking of albums Ali Edwards has posted a couple of free album concepts and directions on her website. She is also in a contest at sixdegrees.com to raise money for Autism Speaks. Her badge is currently in first place. The badge with the most donations will be matched by Kevin Bacon. The minimum donation is $10. I donated. I challenge you to do the same. It's quick, easy and goes to a good cause.
