As Promised

More from Saturday....Last night Steve and I were talking about what we ate for dinner as kids that we didn't really enjoy. Steve had it far worse than me. Liver and onions! Yuck! The kids were listening and getting grossed out. Kyle says "Dad you were a gross kid!" We could not stop laughing. While we were reminiscing, we talked about our Saturdays as kids. All I remember is when Dad wasn't working away from home, we were working together as a family. Dad and Mom didn't say what fun thing should we do today? They said here's a yellow sponge and some fantastic get to scrubbing the baseboards and walls. Not always the fantastic sometimes it was a weeding, or straightening the garage. You get the idea. Sometimes we did fun stuff like drive in movies. But usually it was all about the work. The cycle continues...it is Spring Break so Steve and I feel the need to get some spring cleaning done. No long vacation. But I do guarantee there will be some fun to be had because Steve needs his fun!

While the kids were at Star Nursery getting the rest of the supplies, they were all riding in the wheelbarrow. The two olders were arguing. Kyle finally said, "Lauren quit scootin back you're giving me a junk wedgie" (That is probably not appropriate but it was too funny to forget) They also bought some ladybugs to set free. That has become a bit of a tradition for our first of spring yard work days.

This is what little Brandon was doing most of the day...wishing he was outside with the rest of them. If he didn't put everything into his mouth, I would have considered it.

Yeah the memories of spring cleaning! We each had our own sponge & fantastic bottles. What a dreaded chore! But I am really thankful to mom & dad too!
I am glad you guys got so much done! The backyard is our next BIG project too.
