Weekend Recap

Was a busy weekend. Kade was so exhausted from the Father's and Sons outing. They came home dirty and happy. He was still trying to recuperate on Sunday afternoon. He fell asleep sitting up on the pew in Sacrament meeting. Lauren and I went to the Mother Daughter Luau. She had fun swimming. She is such a fish. Then she slept in bed with me. And I fell asleep before her, while she was telling me a story. I am getting so old. We laughed about that the next morning. I decided to take the poor girl to the mall because I NEVER do that. I was pleasantly surprised. Brandon did well and Lauren thought it was great having a little shopping spree. That's how I shop. Get a ton of stuff and then you don't have to go as often. I failed to make a card or even get a card. Thankfully Amber let me go in on her gift. Some years I get it together and well, this wasn't one of those years. But I want you to know that I love you Mom. Let me count the ways:
1. You are the rock or "the glue" as Steve would say. You hold us all together. When we were eight crazy little kids and teenagers and now when some are still a little crazy with a bunch of new little wild boys. You pull us together.
2. You are always there. Whatever time of day, whatever silly question or drama. Can definetly count on Mom.
3. You give of your time freely. Sometimes a little too freely. It amazes me. I appreciate it. Each of us and each of your grandchildren know they are loved.
4. You go with the flow and are the example of "things will be okay." We will be okay and get through whatever the situation may be. The calm in the storm. That's you.
5. You give advice when asked.
6. You know the gospel inside and out. You are an example of strength and testimony.
7. You know everyone in the grocery store. I always thought that was funny when I was a kid. That you would carry on conversations with the checkers, and say hello to the produce people. (in a good way, not like Uncle Larry.)
8. You have always expected much from each of us.
9. Both you and Dad have taught us to work hard. To work for what we want and need.
10. Have put everyone else above your own needs. ALWAYS. I'm anxious to see what happens when Kimberly leaves this summer. You deserve some you time.

I love you for these reasons and more, but it is late, and I am tired, and my brain is not functioning as well as it was a few hours ago.
