List

1. Signed up to take Shimelle's class. I probably won't finish it up or even start it. I thought that it sounded like a good concept. If anything I'll get the information and do it on my own later. 10 photos in a small album.....right up my alley.

2. Last night I went to a corner gym and signed up. Those places kind of make me feel uncomfortable. The guy signing me up asked me how long its been since I worked out. Like 10 years....honestly. I don't even have workout clothes. I got roped into doing 12 personal training sessions. I'm not gonna book those until the kids go back to school. But it's a start. I need to do this. I will feel better. Not to mention the fat percentage....alarming. It's not really that bad but it looked bad to me for my age. BTW, he thought I was 24. I wish.

3. I have been wanting to try some recipes from Patti Cakes. When the dinner hour approaches, I realize that I needed to be marinating something for more hours than I have. I will plan ahead tomorrow. I'm gonna try the kabobs. Those are my kind of meals....light and summery.

4. Went to Walmart today and stocked up on some supplies for craft projects. I really should have been an art teacher. Anyways, I decided to get some cheap plastic albums for the kids. I ordered a couple of sets of prints from our vacation. I'm going to let them make their own albums of our vacation. Picked up some sun catchers, canvas and supplies to make this salt painting craft.

5. When I went to pick up the photos from Costco, a lady was coming out to her car as we were getting ready to back up. She was parked in front of me and had this look of disgust on her face....glaring at me at shaking her head. I have NO IDEA what I did to irritate her. Maybe I parked to close to her car. I think that I am generally a polite person. I couldn't stop thinking about her the whole drive home. Of all the nerve.

6. Steve and I are going to go on vacation just the two of us sometime in the next couple of weeks. We are such the last minute vacationers. We haven't chosen a destination. Here are our options: San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago(because that's where he served his mission) or same ol Southern California with an IKEA trip attached. What do you think?? Any places that you have been that are fun. We want to do something different that we wouldn't do if we had the kids. At the same time, I need for it to be relaxing. I hear a massage calling my name!

about the costco lady - i could let something like that ruin my day. i have the hardest time letting something like that go. i keep thinking that i should have just asked them.... what the heck is your problem?

i've always wanted to visit san francisco and chicago... i think anywhere with just the hubby sounds good!

thanks for more craft ideas.

anywhere would be relaxing without kids!

I almost booked a trip to San Francisco for Labor Day weekend through Expedia. Great deal . . . airfare AND The Cliffs Hotel (ohhh, fun) for a little more than a third of the price we spent on a weekend in San Diego. The great thing about San Francisco ... you don't need a car. You can get to your hotel from the airport and once you're there you can walk everywhere. Union Square - FUN. Our best weekend vacation was in San Francisco. Have fun!

I love the glares me and my sister get when we go to lunch with our four kids. The old people usually love us or hate us. Sometimes people will even move away from our table. Usually the kids aren't being too crazy so we try to not let it bother us... Mom's and kids have the right to eat lunch too.

If you want relaxing you should go to S. Cal. San Francisco sounds fun too but more busy.

I am always getting dirty looks at Target, from the employees. I don't get it. My kids aren't THAT crazy!

I can't wait to check out Patti Cakes. I made a goal to try 2 new recipes a week, so having another place to get ideas is always fun. Thanks!

And I am so jealous that you and your hubby are getting in a solo trip. I would give anything to get away with just my hubby. We just got back from So. Cal, and it's where I would go, but San Fran is great too. Have fun!

We had the best time in San Fran. We went on priceline and for $60.00 a night we stayed at the Westin in Union Square (which is walking distance for everything)(and you see Macy's outside your window). It is a lot of walking but if you stay in a nicer hotel you can always get those little special treatments.

Heather, you have to look at Travelzoo's Top 20 deals. Wicked good vacation deals.

Travelzoo is the best. That's where I first saw The Cliffs Hotel. They have great deals.

The expedia deals are good if you package the flight and the hotel.

Priceline can be good, too.

I agree about Union Square. It's where you want to be. You can walk everywhere.

I thought I remembered your husband doesn't enjoy the beach. SF would work.

Chicago . . . fun city, not so easy to get around. But if you decide to go there, well, I lived there for 2.5 years and I'll send some suggestions your way.

Have fun planning.

I'd choose SF because I've never been and it sounds so fun. I love "walking cities." You'll have fun wherever you go!
