It's a Masterpiece

Today while we were doing this salt art project, I was getting a little irritated with Lauren because she was rushing around throwing salt all over her picture and not really concerning herself with keeping the colors separated. I said Lauren really could you be careful, you aren't following the rules. To which she quickly replied Mom this is ART there are NO rules and this is a masterpiece! Nice reminder to lighten up!
Some things we discovered if you would like to play along...
1. Use cardstock instead of construction paper. The construction paper was too lightweight and the glue was making it soggy.
2. Do not add water to your glue as it says. The salt would not stick. Paint the glue on straight from the bottle.
3. The recipe makes a TON of salt. We had so much leftover. I would probably only use 1/4 c or less for each color.
