Some very grainy pictures but cute nonetheless. I stinkin had the ISO up to 1600. In all the commotion I forgot to check my settings.
All smiles this morning. Lauren was so very cooperative. We faced the mobs of parents, luckily

Kyle was a bit apprehensive. He kept thinking that I was going to leave him. I was drilling him about what his room number was so he could find his line after lunch....giving him some techniques to doing it by himself. Compared to all those kids he looked so small. I must admit that I teared up a bit watching him walk in. Thankfully a mom came over to see how Kyle did or I would have probably had a full on cry. I was relieved to see Brady (a boy from his Kindergarten class) turn around in line and wave at Kyle. He had a friend and all would be well.
One funny thing he said (because Kyle always has to say something funny) I asked him what he should do if he couldn't find his line at lunch. "Ummm I'll just look for you!"
I was quickly reminded of Lauren when she was in the first grade telling me not to kiss her in public it was so embarrassing. The story with the little boy whose mom did that. Well today a mom was hugging her daughter in Kyle's class and kissing her TONS and telling her that she would miss her. I glanced back and the girl was shaking her head and rolling her eyes. So funny what parents do. My Kyle not a problem with the kissing mom. I'm so glad about that.
Afternoon pickup was a nightmare. It was even hotter. Kyle and the heat don't mix. He quickly handed me his backpack and was trying to take off his shirt. He was irrationally whining and telling me that his feet were hot and he couldn't walk he needed to pull on me. So fun walking across the field like that. As predicted he made it only to the living room before stripping down to his undies. Kyle: one of a kind.
Lauren had a fabulous day. She is used to this all day stuff. Her friend Hannah is not on the same track, but she did see her a recess. There are a couple of girls from the other ward in her class that she doesn't know yet. She is excited to get to know them better. One of them will be going to GATE with her so I think that's good especially since there are no girls her age from our ward. She likes her teacher and saw her teacher from last year. They are going to start learning cursive in three weeks....she can't wait. So she can legally write her name on all her schoolwork...she has been doing that since second grade. Little stink. Like usual Lauren was very detailed in all of the events of the day. Kyle not so much. They are both anxious for a fun second day.

Oh my head. They are so big. A lady I work with just sent her little boy to his first day of first grade and she was a little sad about it. I told her about Kyle stripping down and she was cracking up.
I miss you guys.
Wow. Lauren looks so grown up. Cute kids. Glad you survived.....& glad they did too.
