Today

I was driving and thinking about when I was little (probably Lauren's age) and we used to ride our bikes with banana seats and baskets all around the front yard and pretend to run errands. Picking the kids up from school, the grocery store, bank, etc. We would designate certain areas like the mailbox to be the school, car to be the bank...anyways I remember thinking that we were so grown up. Of course we would have to pick ages because we were moms after all. I thought that I would never grow up. Anything past 12 was SO far away. And now here I am running my own children around and time is FLYING by. And now I am ancient in my 8 year old mind. 31.... crazy! And now that I'm here, running errands isn't nearly as fun as it was when I was riding my bike.

Why do we want to grow up so fast? My sweet, 8 year old Lauren, is in a place that I once was. I hope that she enjoys her childhood and stops trying to be older than she is.
