So remember the canvas ABC artwork I had the kids start on in the fall? We'll those were revisited briefly today. Lauren got farther than Kyle. He got invited to a friend's house and thought that would be more fun. While I was helping the kids, Brandon decided to pull himself up on the chair. He just started crawling. He is way to little to be doing that!! He is getting big too fast.
Very productive day for us. Lauren helped me clean the downstairs voluntarily. She thought it was fun. She enjoys the mopping and dusting and vacuuming instead of the picking up. Because she isn't as chipper about doing that.
I set up the quilting frames. Steve asked how long those were going to be occupying our bonus room. Seriously I thought that they would probably be there for quite some time. I really don't want to take them down until I'm FINISHED.
So I got instructions from Mom last night on how to do this. Tiny stitches, mark my lines, beginning knots, how to end the run. You name it she knows it. I think that she is incredible really. Such a wealth of information. When I want to learn something new, it is always more comforting to know that Mom can help me along. Gives me a little more confidence. Okay so you should have seen me last night trying to make "little stitches" Today that has gone out the window. Heck following the lines is a little difficult. Oh well, I decided that it will add character. And for the record, I think this will be my only handstitched quilt. But everyone should do at least one in their lifetime. I have completed more that I had anticipated. Stitches are not uniform and are quite big....but I really like it.
Also I whipped up the next card in the art journal deck of cards. I couldn't resist. I really like how this one turned out. The prompt was what is powerful to you. And I copied because I didn't want to have to come up with something else and heck I think family bonds are pretty powerful. So there is an initial for each member of our family on the circle and we are all linked together. I will journal on the back.

I like all the circles on your card & the quilt is going to look so good when you're done. It's already adorable.

Hi-
I'm Candace's friend, Michelle. I've been looking in on your blog...saw the link on Candace's. I enjoy your blog and reading what life is like for a mother of 4.
What is the card journaling thing you are doing? It sounds fun.
Hey Michelle!
There is a challenge on Emily Falconbridge's blog to create a mini art journal out of a deck of cards. You alter the cards...no rules, anything goes. She gives a prompt every week and at the end of the year your album will be complete. People link their work to her blog... so there's lots of ideas of different ideas posted there each week. I've linked her blog in my Jan. 7th post. Candace has her as one of her favorites.
