K: Mom, can you write a check for $1,000?
M: What for?
K: For jump rope for heart. If I get $1,000 then I can get this really cool double scooter.
M: I can buy you a scooter for less than that.
K: I know Mom, but it's for kids with really sick hearts.
He leaves and comes back later....
K: Can you write a check for $15.
M: Yes buddy!
My kids always get caught up in getting x amount of money for the fundraisers and things by the motivating prizes that the companies promise. It sometimes makes me mad that they do that.
