We are home. It was an interesting trip in a one of a kind city. We did all things big city....took a cab, rode the cable cars, trolleys, subway and municipal bus system. Our first bus ride was right down in the heart of Chinatown....hello can I say aggressive people. The bus was packed and it didn't seem to bother them to keep smushing in. Very uncomfortable for those of us who enjoy our personal space. We walked so much my whole body aches. Loved the weather. It was SO NICE and cool. I was overwhelmed with all there is too see. It was almost like sensory overload. The houses are so cute and neighborhoods quaint and definitely not a practical place or convenient place to live for those with families. At least in the heart of the city. Such a cultural and artistically rich area. Loved the art museum and the architecture. Along with that comes the extremely liberally minded souls. San Francisco seems like a place that embraces all. It was interesting to see the very rich and the very poor. Lots of homeless beggars. We kind of got a kick out of their creativeness in panhandling. One guy had us laughing with his rhyming and guitar strumming. On the way out of Ghirardelli square, he earned some money from us. It was nice to get away...and it is nice to be home again.
I didn't have as many photo ops without the kids.....Steve doesn't play that game. You can however catch a glimpse of us in the Ghirardelli photo. We missed Alcatraz altogether, the tours were booked and we saw no point in riding around it in a boat. We pretty much felt like we saw what we wanted to and got a good feel for the city. Wished we would have tried some better food places.....other than that good trip all around.

I love the weather and the city. Great pictures.
Carol: Went to the store..it was cute but it was expensive. $30-$40 for one letter. There was nothing that I really had to have. So we saw, we looked, and we left empty handed.
I love your pictures! Glad you had a fun trip :)
Bummer!
Guess it's time to get out your little wood cutter thing-a-ma-jig and make your own cool letters!
