Lots of Randomness

*Here's Kade the little kitchen helper. Last night he was patiently waiting for me to finish feeding Brandon before we could start whipping up some salsa. I could see his feet from where I was sitting. He is such a helper.

*I always love to receive the Ensign. I usually keep it downstairs and read here and there when I have a minute. There is always good quotes and information. So I was reading an article about a grown woman who was dealing with her parents divorce. It basically stated that no matter when parents divorce it ALWAYS affects the children. Even if they are grown. The statement that I liked said, "There is no mortal relationship that is more intricately tied to who we are." speaking of our parents. Isn't that so true. And then later my favorite quote of the article that doesn't necessarily have to pertain to divorce says, "No one can be classed as a true follower of the Savior who is not in the process of removing from his heart and mind every feeling of ill will, bitterness, hatred, envy or jealousy toward another. It is impossible for us to feel the complete peace the Savior offers His followers unless we are willing to let go of anger and other negative feelings and seek the healing that can be found through His atonement." I loved that. We have to forgive and let things go in order to move on and be healed through Him who knows and has felt all. I think that I'll post a quote more regularly, maybe a one a week or something.

*My quilt is almost complete. I have done all the squares and just need to do the outside edges. I predict beginning of next week and I can take these stands down. Everyone will be thrilled about that. Kyle just made a comment tonight when he was playing computer. "When are you going to take these stinkin things down. It keeps hitting me in the neck." Very soon my child.

*Is this not the cutest backpack. I am seriously considering buying it for Kade to pack his books and things in. Maybe a little church bag. I am in love with it and he is the perfect age for this. I found it at this site. They have really cute felt barrettes too. I'm sure those could easily be reproduced.

* So Lauren wants to know when we can start on her quilt. Here are some fabrics I want to buy. When they are all put together like this, I'm thinking that there is too much floral. I definitely want to have a more girly quilt: pinks, and aqua (I love that) Maybe a little orange and yellow? I probably need to take a few of these out and find some stripes as well. We'll see. What do you think?
* Lauren's dance rehearsal was tonight. She is really looking forward to tomorrow night.

Purlsoho.com I liked that you can order whatever yardage you want. You don't have to buy a minumum of a yard.

Heather - That backpack is the rad. Also, I like your fabric choices.

The only one I'm not sure about is the last one, the one with the pink /yellow/green leaves. I'm not sure what about it I'm not loving. The boldness of the yellow, maybe? The fact it's the only one with a white background? The other colors seem more muted. Then again, it's entirely possible that I may not know what I'm talking about.

Anyway. Just though I'd poke my head in quickly and say "hi."

Hey Dylan!
Thanks for your advice. Was thinking that was the first one to go! Glad to have a second opinion.
